Primulin cough medicine contains aqueous extracts from primrose and thyme which complement each other in their action and facilitate expectoration. This cough medicine helps maintain normal functioning of the respiratory system. The active ingredients of the cough medicine, besides loosening the thick phlegm, also have an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect, which help relieve productive cough.
Primrose alleviates irritation in the upper respiratory tract, helps dilute the thick phlegm and in this way makes expectoration easier.
Thyme contains essential oil and saponins, which help expectorate the mucus from the respiratory organs. The thymol present in the thyme essential oil has an antiseptic effect (prevents microbial growth) in the airways, but it also relieves bronchial spasm.
Levomenthol produces a sensation of warmth in the throat and relieves the cough symptoms.
Primulin cough medicine is recommended for:
- easier expectoration;
- enhanced function of upper respiratory tract.
Children between 4 and 12 years of age: 1 dosing spoonful (5 ml) 3 times a day.
Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1 dosing spoonful (5 ml) 4 times a day.
