Chemical name of Sodium Bicarbonate is Natrium Hidrogen Carbonate and it is part of every household due to its wide usage. Sodium Bicarbonate is component of baking powder and apart from being used to help digestion (there is scientific data for this but it is not advised without prior consultations with doctor), it is also known to remove unpleasant smells, stains and as water – softener. There are traditional recipes for preparation of cakes with sodium bicarbonate and it can also be used to abate pain of swellings in insect stings or other types of swellings.
